The Christ Candle

The Christ candle is lit and remians burning to remind us in whose name we approach the throne of grace. Through the burning of the candle we are reminded it is Christ who is with us and who intercedes for us at the right hand of God.

Giving Thanks to God

At the art table we are given the opportunity to express our thanks to the God who provides for and watches over us. Use the supplies to write a poem or song. Get out the pains to paint a picture. Be creative in expressing your thanks to Almighty God.

Dealing with our sin)

The Sin Shredder is an opportunity for us to forgive and seek forgiveness. We are prompted to write down the ways in which we have been wronged (and are unable/unwilling to forgive). Then we are prompted to write down our own sins. Last,we shred the paper to represent God's forgiveness for us, but also God's grace which enables us to firgive others.

Prayer Wall (Supplication)

The prayer wall is an opportunity to present our deepest and most intimate requests to God. Write down your request on a slip of paper, fold it and place it in one of the cracks on the wall. No human eyes will ever see these requests, but we can be sure that God sees and knows our deepest requests.

Cross (Supplication/Thanksgiving)

At the cross we are prompted to present our requests to God so that we might pray for, and bear one another's burdens. Take a slip of paper, write your request on it and tack it to the cross. While you are there, do not forget to pray for the other requests represented.

Prayer for Our World

At this station, we are prompted to pray for our world. Take a candle and place it on a world area/country/state and light it. Pray for that area that the gospel would spread. Let the candle act as a visual prayer for that part of the world.

Prayer for our Community

Here is a map of our local area and state. Take a pin and place it on a street/area in the map that represents your request. It may be a school, a church, or the home of a friend or family member. Now pray that the gospel of Christ would reach into those areas and that God's work would be done there.

Letting Go Of Our Burdens

At this station is a pile of stones and a pool of water. Pick up a stone, visualize a particular burden you carry. Feel the weight of the stone and imagine that stone is a burden weighing you down. With a prayer for God's help, toss the stone into the pool of water and give thanks to God who carries our burdens so that we do not have to.

Gaining God's Perspective

At this station look into the mirror. How do you see yourself? Look again and try to see yourself as God sees you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are a unique creation made in God's own image. You are a redeemed and adopted child of the most high God. Now press one of your fingers into the ink and press it in the book. You are a unique and beautiful creation of God!

Simply Praying

If you would just like to sit and pray there is a couch for you to do so. Feel free to put on a worship or classical CD as you look through devotional thoughts from authors past and present. Take out a Bible and read it back to God in prayer or just sit silently and allow God to speak to you.
